May 16, 2012·I finished the recipe today (let it ferment for 2 weeks, strained it and added apple cider vinegar). However, I’m not too pleased with the scent. If I use it for a cleaner, I feel like it will make my house smell like fermented fruit – not a pleasing smell, in my opinion.

It costs a nickel a load to wash clothes, instead of 18¢, like Tide. Clothes are clean and smell fresh without a perfumey odor.

You don’t want or need to use more than 1 Tbsp per load. My cloth diapers have never been cleaner! However, a real detergent might be more of an issue with a septic system.
